As a young 20-something woman who has witnessed God encounter people again and again and consequently change them forever, I've got a confession to make. I, Krysta Szkarlat, am completely hooked on watching God transform lives and set people free. We serve an Almighty God who desires to break into our tiny, seemingly insignificant lives and meet with us. He comes down to where we are. He is not residing in the sky, watching us from above, completely removed from His creation. He is WITH us, Emmanuel. In our mess, our struggles, our fear and our brokenness, Jesus is right there. It's those moments, where heaven meets earth and our loving Father reveals himself to us, that I can never get enough of. It's the moments when we are set free and restored! It's wild to think that the creator of the universe desires to be in relationship with us, mere flesh and blood. Who are we that He is mindful of us? Who are we that He cares? When His Spirit becomes tangible and we come face to face with Jesus, we are changed as blinders fall off, truth takes hold, and healing occurs. It's those experiences that equip us and empower us to tell this world about Jesus!

My desire is to be a part of those moments in the lives of others. My heart is to make space for Christ Jesus to come touch us, change us, and to encounter us. God has extended an invitation to each and every one of us to come along on His great adventure. For me, I believe this ministry is a small part of that. This ministry is me saying, “YES.” to all that God has in store. Let's partner together and experience 1 Corinthians 2:9, "'What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived' -- the things God has prepared for those who love him-”.

My Heart.

At any given moment you'll find me consuming copious amounts of chocolate, belting Taylor Swift ballads off key with my husband, handing out the big bucks at Scotia Bank or reading on my deck. My last name is Polish and it's pronounced just like Scarlett. I love being plugged into a good small group where we get to tackle challenging subject matter and ask the tough questions. I do whatever it takes to avoid making dinner. Leftovers, anyone? Currently, I'm reading "Man and Woman, One in Christ: An Exegetical and Theological Study of Paul's Letters" by Philip B. Payne and it's blowing my mind! I have a beautiful twin sister who I am so thankful for. I paint couches (it's crazy what budgeting can lead to!) and everything else I can get my hands on. Right now, I'm learning that I will never have everything figured out, and that's OK, and that I don't have to know all the answers before I speak up. Set me loose in a thrift store and you won't see me for hours (My poor husband...). I love praying with people for healing and I've watched God heal backs, knees, migraines... and often with complete strangers! I've heard it said, "The Holy Spirit is trapped inside unbelieving believers, and He wants out!". Each day is an opportunity to get outside of our comfort zones and see what Holy Spirit wants to do through us for those around us. Often it's a struggle for me but God is faithful and He continues to draw me into a deeper trust of Him. I am consistently amazed with His desire to meet people right where they're at! South Korea was my home for one year where I taught English as a second language. I returned with a passion for kimchi and karaoke singing rooms, of course. :) Being newly married, I've been loving studying what the bible says about marriage and men and women. It's been fascinating studying the Hebrew/Greek and the cultural context of the day. This journey that God has taken me on during the last few years has been really eye-opening and God has brought so much healing and freedom to me as I study more of what God's word says regarding these areas. He is such a faithful Father! I am consistently reminded of just how much God loves His children. I can't wait to see what's up next!

ANd you?

Growing up, I was never drawn to the idea of being in ministry. Watching my Dad pastor over the years has given me a front row seat to witness just how uniquely challenging ministering can be and I didn't want any part of it. At Nipissing University I pursued my BA in Psychology with the intent of teaching. I've always been passionate about communicating and sharing valuable information. Teaching definitely gave me the opportunity to exercise my giftings and skill set. Half way through my degree I was overwhelmed with doubt as to whether this was truly where God was calling me, or if I was simply just doing what everyone normally did. Feeling incredible unrest, I decided to move back home and finish my BA at a local university. Having watched my sister's life change dramatically while attending The School of Ministry in Toronto, I quickly followed in her footsteps. Incredibly hungry for God and eager to watch His supernatural power at work in my life, I thrived at ministry school. I found myself studying topics that my heart burned for and I learned truths that changed me. I watched God heal many of the hurts I had carried around and I was set free from fear. On outreach in Sweden I was selected to speak to a very large group of young adults. Terrified and overwhelmed I began to share and I quickly felt the Holy Spirit taking over and working through me. Upon sitting down and feeling alive like never before, God spoke to me of His call on my life to preach Jesus and all that He has won for His children through the cross. I wept and wept as I heard God's voice clearly and felt His presence so strongly. The one thing I had said "No!" to, God had already ordained. Since that day, God has continued to reveal His will for me in the area of ministry. I've come to a place where I can no longer deny the specific call of God on my life to teach and preach Jesus and to work to see others healed and set free through the power of the Holy Spirit. This ministry and website is a giant step of obedience and faith for me. I am very excited to partner with you and journey together deeper into the heart of God and all that He has for us!

Now it's your turn! What makes you tick? What desires has God placed in your heart? How can I help you grow into all God has created you to be? Head over to the contact page to get in touch! Or better yet, swing by and you can test out my painted couch and maybe, just maybe, I'll share some of my chocolate stash with you.

I long to see the church on fire as God intended. I want to see the children of God, an end time army, walking in freedom and intimacy with God, healed and equipped to make Jesus famous. I want to lead believers into encountering God on a daily basis and walking filled with the Holy Spirit. I am eager to witness believers growing up into all that Jesus has won for them through the cross.
